A series of short video clips will be made available
to demonstrate various aspects of gold leaf gilding. The first clip in the series shows how genuine 23k gold leaf is handled
and manipulated in the gilder's pad. The pad, made of wood, leather, and parchment is one of the gilder's tools that
provides a place to keep the gold leaf when working on a project. The parchment forms a windshield to offer a barrier to help prevent draughts from blowing the leaf from
the pad.
