SEATTLE, WA...Charles Douglas, a traditional gilder in private practice in the Pacific Northwest, specializes in both custom gilding and restoration of gold leaf gilded frames and furniture. Located in the beautiful Green Lake district of Seattle, his focus is contemporary and period-influenced hand finished gilded picture and mirror frames, furniture, and glass gilded mirrors, based on the beautiful gilding art form of
Verre Églomisé.

A long-time member of the Society of Gilders and senior editor of the society's international gilding journal, Charles is also a committed teacher of gold leaf gilding. Workshops are held throughout the year for those interested in exploring the mystery and beauty of applying gold leaf including the ancient method of traditional water gilding.
